Currently working on this casting animation, the arm waving is a little choppy and that will have to be cleaned up and the rest of the body needs animating still. I have seven more directions to animate after this direction is finished...

Tiled grass and spell book

The game is coming along pretty well and I feel even more so when I finally make a grass pattern that blends well, trying to make an image not look tiled is harder than it looks, 'Pattern Maker...' in Photoshop is not perfect and your image still requires a lot of work to get it just right. I wouldn't say this grass pattern is 100%, but it's at a point where I can make small changes down the road and make it just about perfect.

My 'open book' GUI is a place where the player can find their saved spells and cast them. It remains in the corner of the screen and can be opened and closed by clicking on a button.

Coding some spells!

It was a bit of a puzzle as to where I should start coding and what to tackle first, but I figured a spell casting button would be good. So I created this button that when clicked will create some strawberries on the ground, more specifically on the ground in front of the players facing direction, somewhat tricky but I managed to figure it out. Next step is to create a slight delay once the spell is cast before the strawberries actually show up and to change the player sprite to a casting animation, which I will have to create. A lot of work ahead for sure.

Small wizard game

This is the current project I have going, a small game about a wizard (Ambrosius) and spell casting, a slow relaxing puzzle-ish type game. Here is Ambrosius' home I have been painting the fine details using Gimp onto some line work I had made in MS Paint. I have been all over the place with my projects and find it hard to locate the prefect project to complete within reason, which has lead me to bounce around quite a bit. Now, I don't plan to stop any of my other projects but I definitely have a much better idea of the size and scope game I need to focus on, being such a novice developer I simply continue to learn what is possible for me and what might be a bit too much at the moment, given I have limited skill.
