Ambrosia is going really well, but I feel as though I'm having some sort of creative block.. or.. well, a coding limitations block let's say. I'm just not sure exactly how I want to tell the story and... where exactly this story is going within the world of the game. So far I have basically lots of land and I have started to build castles and their surrounding town life and such.. anyway enough about that. (I will still be working on this game and posting updates)
Really becoming more excited at the moment about this other game I have going, an alien invasion type game (untitled currently) that takes place during the 1950s. This game will be vastly easier to make because it has levels and isn't a large open world with zones. Level games are where it's at for a budding developer like me.
To get an idea of this game think of somewhere along the lines of Zombies Ate My Neighbors and The Simpsons: Bart vs. the Space Aliens in the 16 bit. My game isn't going to look anything like these games but there is an element of humor and the bizarre. Your character basically searches levels to find the hidden aliens living amongst us, some are obvious and some are not so obvious... maybe the character might have to use some acquired weapons or tools to detect these aliens, the difficulty increases naturally as you progress but your gadgets do as well.
This game offers me a change in colors and subject matter, keeping things fun and interesting. (until I'm bored with this and start a new game... just kidding)
